Pineapple Upside Wrong Cake March 24, 2014

Here's a little twist on a Pineapple upside down cake.  My husband Dave has named this cake appropriately!  It is so good!

Pineapple Upside Wrong Cake

1- Box Yellow Cake Mix  (Mix according to directions)
1 stick of butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 20 oz can pineapple chunks
20 (or more) Maraschino Cherries

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Spray the bottom of your baking pan with cooking spray.  Pour in cake batter, and then spoon the butter & brown sugar mixture over the top.  Use a butter knife to swirl the mixture into the cake.  Drain your pineapple chunks & cherries, then scatter them across the top of the cake.  Bake for approximately 45 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.  If you like glaze on the top, wait till the cake is cool & drizzle glaze over the top.

Powdered Sugar Glaze
1 1/4 cups powdered sugar
3 tablespoons milk (more if needed)

Mix milk into sugar.add more milk, 1 tbsp at a time, if needed to achieve desired consistency.  Drizzle on desired product.

Pineapple Upside Down Cake

You Will Need:

Yellow or Pineapple Flavored Cake Mix (I prefer Duncan Hines) ;  Mix cake per instructions on package.

1/2 cup butter (melted)

1 cup brown sugar

12 pineapple slices

12 maraschino cherries

In the bottom of a greased 9 x 13 cake pan, mix melted butter with brown sugar.  Spread evenly over the bottom of the pan. Arrange pineapple and cherries on top of the mixture.  Pour prepared cake batter over the top of the pineapples.  Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 45 minutes.  When cake is done, let it sit for about 10 minutes.  Flip out onto serving tray.  Serve warm or chilled.  Enjoy!
