Fabric – Closet Organization January 24, 2014

I did a little fabric organization today so I thought I'd update what I achieved.  My hubby cut my fabric boards out of 3/16" MDF board, and does this ever work like a charm for fabric storage!  I still am giving thought to how I want to organize my fat quarters, charm packs, etc.  I have a huge basket of scraps to go through, and those will be sorted by color & put in the tall rolling drawer unit you see in the back of the walk in closet.  We eliminated the closet door since it just takes up wall space.  There's still so much more to do, but I feel like I am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.  As I'm typing this, my hubby is assembling the crafting desk for the last wall. Everything will be so handy when I get it all organized.  It's exciting to see the bags and laundry baskets full of "stuff" disappearing, and more floor showing!

Fabric On Canvas Wall Hangings

Supplies You'll Need:

Canvas

Fabric Pieces

Mod Podge

Paintbrush

Ruler

Cutting Tool or Scissors

Choose the size canvas you wish to cover.  I used pillow panels as the covering I adhered to the canvas.  Use creativity to create patterns and borders. Once you have glued your patterns into place, put another coating of mod podge on top of your fabric covered canvas. Use a blow dryer to dry, or let it dry overnight. These turn out quite nice, and will be something you are proud to hang on the wall!
