Applique Valentine Tree Ornaments January 24, 2015

Here are the 4 Valentine ornaments I completed today.  I decorate a tree in my foyer for every holiday, and I’m trying to add a few more special things every year.  They take a while to make, but I will have them for years.  I believe I have 6 or 7 left to finish, and then I’ll make the special ones I have in mind for my sweet grand kiddos!  As for today, I am officially worn out.  I hope you enjoy these!

Valentine Tree Ornaments January 23, 2015

Out of 12 ornaments that I have planned for my foyer tree, I only managed to get 2 done today.  As I was designing these, I wanted them to be as much of an “in the hoop” project as possible.  It took me a while to figure out how I wanted to do it, and try real hard not to screw up even one of them. I hate wasting fabric & time.  Of course the embellishments & ribbon have to be added after I’m done “in the hoop” since I’m going for that sweet Valentine look.  I actually think I achieved it!  I hope to get a few more done this weekend.  Valentine’s Day is almost here.  🙂

Lovebirds Appliqued Towel Set With Matching Tablecloth January 14, 2015

I was finally able to digitize my “Lovebirds” applique & make a set of towels with a matching table cloth for ME! This has become a pretty rare occurrence lately. It felt like forever to be away from my sewing room since my surgery, but I’m back! It sure feels good. The best part is that I’ve actually got something pretty to put out for Valentine’s Day & Spring! Hmmmm…. what’s next?

Halloween Decorations October 9, 2014

I thought I’d share a couple of our Halloween preparation pictures.  There are purple lights on the bushes by the house, along with a big lighted spider web & spider.  I think it will look pretty nice with the black lights on the scene, the fog machine going, fresh carved pumpkins flickering into the night, and the spoooooooky music playing.  We enjoy doing this for the local children that come trick or treating.  I didn’t get a real close up picture of the pumpkin banner I made, but you get the idea.  Next year we need to add a witch with a cauldron.  I wish I had time this year, but just don’t know that I’ll get it done before I have my carpal tunnel surgery on both hands.  Fun fun!!

Spa Therapy Towels September 28, 2014

I just finished my “Spa Therapy” towels for my screen porch.  I’m pleased that I got them done today.  Now I have to get in the spa to put up the towel bar.  I have ulterior motives for a nice long soak.  I do believe my daughter will be sneaking over to join me.  Fun & relaxing times.  I did tell my hubby we need to put a TV out there though.  I could watch the game while I relax too!  🙂

Book Bag Monogram Notice July 22, 2014

It's that time of year where parents are scrambling to buy school supplies.  I have been getting many calls for embroidery on book bags, and I thought I'd share what I have been telling my customers.  **PLEASE think twice about putting your child's name on the outside of their book bag!  Unfortunately, a child becomes an easy target for a predator with their name proudly displayed on their back.  Predator's do their best to make your child think that they know them.  Even a well informed child may let their guard down when they hear a friendly voice call them by name.  It only takes a second of hesitation on the part of a child for a predator to see their opportunity.  Here are some other options that your child may enjoy on their bag.   Try using your child's initials on their bag, or maybe a key chain style tag that they can attach to their handle.  There are super cute ways for them to show their style!  Send me a message, or email me at: susan@yankeebellecreations.com , and we can discuss the best way for your child to have personalization on their book bag!
