It was a cool & windy 65 degree evening here in Louisiana for Halloween, but we had a fun, exhausting evening. We probably went through about $100 worth of candy, but there’s still some left for my hubby to take for the guys at work. Here’s a few of the pictures we took of our friendly/spooky graveyard scene! Halloween Decorations October 9, 2014
I thought I’d share a couple of our Halloween preparation pictures. There are purple lights on the bushes by the house, along with a big lighted spider web & spider. I think it will look pretty nice with the black lights on the scene, the fog machine going, fresh carved pumpkins flickering into the night, and the spoooooooky music playing. We enjoy doing this for the local children that come trick or treating. I didn’t get a real close up picture of the pumpkin banner I made, but you get the idea. Next year we need to add a witch with a cauldron. I wish I had time this year, but just don’t know that I’ll get it done before I have my carpal tunnel surgery on both hands. Fun fun!!

As so many of you know, we are big fans of FALL! Halloween is so much fun with all the little spooks and goblins running around on Halloween night. Since we have purchased the home we've been renting, we decided to step it up a little bit, and make it even more fun for the neighborhood children. We are decorating kind of last minute due to my daughter's wedding, we we have been BUSY for the last few weeks hatching our Halloween plan. So I'm sharing what we have done so far. The final touches will be done at the last minute. I promise to post pictures of our fun evening to come!!
**Many have asked how we made the gravestones. I have a very patient husband who cut them out of plywood. We painted them simple gray, black & red paint using a sponge or cloth to give the stones character. You can also add clean play sand (purchase from your local garden center) to it, and it will also give you an inexpensive texture. Use your imagination!
